This book is the work of noted Islamophobe and Jihad Watch director Robert Spencer.

The aim of this book is to demonise Islam, however we must engage with his work in order to refute it.

For the casual reader I’d encourage them to read Karen Armstrong and John Esposito, who both offer more even handed histories of Islam.

Spencer guides the reader through the history of Jihad as he sees it, but the book is quite biased against Muslims.

Jihad is the goal of every Muslim and knowing its history is important.
