The late Martin Lings’ biography of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is a masterpiece which effected me greatly when I read it while in custody.

Lings was an English revert to Islam and a noted scholar.

In this work he delves deeply into the life and times of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).

Lings draws on the earliest sources in the Sirah to provide a comprehensive and engaging biography.

This is quite a feet considering how much ink has been spilt on the topic over the centuries.

Of course Lings was an expert on the works of William Shakespeare and he brings a literary eye to this book.

Well worth a read!
